What is Vermicompost
Vermicompost is the product of decomposition process using various species of worms fed on organic materials. It could be manure of grass eating animals, crop residues or food wastes.
Vermicompost essentially means the castings of earthworms after consuming the organic materials.
Vermicomposting is used by farmers globally; in India it is known by different regional names –

What is special about Vermicompost by Dhenutirth
The unique property of our vermicompost organic fertilizer is that it is based on the manure obtained from Indian indigenous cows (Khillar, Kankarej, Gir, Sahiwal, Tharparkar), which has the highest carbon and organic matter content.
The earworms fed on such half-composted cow manure give out castings with high nutrient and microbial contents.

Benefits of Vermicompost
Vermicompost is considered as one of the best organic fertilizers, and a replacement for chemical fertilizers, for its plethora of benefits –

Vermicompost for indoor plants or potted plants
Use 1:3 proportion of vermicompost, soil/sand and cocopeat while making the potted mix. Thereafter, use handful of vermicompost for each pot every month for improved nourishment & growth of the plant.
Various combinations of ideal potting mixtures can be made by using vermicompost, depending on the type of plant used.
Directions to use vermicompost for indoor plants
- Remove 1-inch top soil near plant’s roots.
- Sprinkle vermicompost and cover it back with top soil.
- Gently water the plant.
Vermicompost for field crops and garden
A typical dosage would be –
- Field crops would require 2-3 tons per acre.
- Any vegetable crops would require 500 kg per acre.
- Any flower plants would require 100-200 gms per square feet.
- Any fruit trees would require 6-12 kg per tree.
